[V for Victory!] Anyone playing it?

A friend of mine has been working on some campaign ideas. Don't know when he'll get a chance to run it, though, as he's quite busy.

I'm using some optional rules from Weird War II, which is a bit more fleshed out but not as polished as V4V. Anyhow, we'll be starting a campaign soon with the Allied invasion of North Africa (Operation Torch). I'm probably going to run a campaign style somewhere between the Medal of Honor video games and Band of Brothers.

I've run a d20 modern game, with conversions from V is for Victory and Wierd Wars piled into it. The game looks fun by itself, but I like the d20 modern classes so much that I couldn't help using it instead. Also, a book for d20 modern, blood and relics, is coming out rather soon and I think will have decent uses in my games.

are ya'll talkin about the "V" mini-series from the 80's w/ the Visitors and stuff?

no, and neither are we talking about v for vendetta, the only comic to ever make me cry.

we're talking about v for victory, the complete d20 minigame in the last issue of polyhedron. Its a rule set for WW2 gaming, with weapons and character templates and stuff. It's writen by Chris Pramas, of Chainmail and Green Ronin fame.

i guess fairly realistic. it has rules to make the death from massive damage limits nastier, and there's not spells or monsters. but its not like it has rules for different body parts or anything.
