Various Druid/Wild Shape/MoMF questions

LasherDragon

First Post
A bunch of questions came up during our gaming session last night, so I will try to remember them all and post them to you fine people here at ENWorld. Oh BTW, was there a purge of inactive members or something? I was a member a while back but apparently it either got deleted or I used some email address I no longer remember.

Anyway, on to the questions:

1) Is there any way for a Druid/MoMF to wild shape into magical beasts? A feat, another PrC, spell perhaps? I find it strange that (via MoMF) I can shift into aberrations but not magical beasts, anyone else feel this way?

2) Druids no longer have the ability to transform into dire animals, is this true?

3) Is there a way for a wild shape user to gain the supernatural special qualities of an assumed form?

4) My druid is of the Killoren race, a fey race, would this have any impact on the types of creature he can shift into?

5) If I wild shape from my current form into a similar form (a humanoid perhaps), does all my equipment still meld and become inert, even if it would fit the new form perfectly well?

6) Just to be sure I am clear on this, one of the MoMF levels grants the extraordinary special qualities of forms - so this means any special quality that has an (EX) in front of it, correct?

7) IIRC, I can use one use of the wild shape ability and remain in the new form for an amount of time equal to my druid level in hours. Does MoMF stack with this? (sorry I left the book at the gaming spot) How about other PrCs like Nature's Warrior, or even other class levels?

8) When it says I must be familiar with the creature that I want to shift into, would summoning such creature via Summon Nature's Ally do the trick? The velociraptor is intriguing but tbh I can't recall ever seeing one in game, or any dinosaur for that matter.

9) Does anyone else find it strange that druids don't get: climb, jump, hide, move silently, or the use of bows? I guess I just pictured most if not all of those skills pretty essential if you plan on living in the wilderness. Maybe it's just me

1. There's a feat in Exalted Deeds that lets you turn into a Giant Eagle, among other things. I think they are magical beasts. But I know of no way for a Druid to turn into ANY magical beast.

2. Not true. They're animals, therefore fair game. Assuming the size limit isn't an issue.

3. Only for Elementals. Don't know of any other way.

4. Nope. Animal is animal. You're original type doesn't matter. (Far as I know.)

5. Wild Shape has changed so many times, I'm not sure what the rule is anymore. I always have my items meld, but I believe that if it fits the new form, it doesn't meld and you can use as normal. Unless one of WotC's weekly wild shape rule change altered that rule.

6. Yep.

7. Not sure. But if the PrC says that those levels stack with a Druid's for wildshaping abilities, then they would stack for duration.

8. I would say so, yes.

9. I find a lot of rules to be strange.

I'm probably right on at least 3 of my answers. :)
