So maybe I'm just missing it, or maybe I just don't have the right book, but I can't seem to find any mention of where his dominion is in 4ed. I know earlier editions gave him a home in the Abyss, but Manual of the Planes doesn't seem to mention him there, nor can I find mention of him in the Astral Sea.

So, just out of curiosity, is there an "official" home for Vecna in 4ed? I realize that as DM his "home" is wherever I say it is, but if there is an official listing I want to at least be prepared to explain why he's no longer there should I place him elsewhere.

ppaladin123 compiled a list with info on gods and their dominions in 4e. Vecna's entry reads:

Vecna: Roams the planes/multiple lairs including "Citadel Cavitius" (Open Grave, Dragon 390)

Not sure he ever had a home in the Abyss. 2e and 3e had his domain as Citadel Cavitius which was in the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Ash, except for the period of time that Vecna and a copy of his domain were imprisoned in the demiplane of Ravenloft.

In Manual of the Planes, page 107, powers of pandemonium, it says that "Vecna mantains a hidden tower in the heart of Pandemonium".
Vecna is known, among other titles, as the "Lord of the Rotted Tower" (Open grave, 212), maybe this title hints to this secret tower in Pandemonium.

Hey thanks for all the info. Must have just skipped over that info in Manual of the Planes. As for earlier editions giving him a home in the Abyss I thought I recalled 3.x giving him a home in Thanatos, but I could just be misremembering. At any rate, I think this gives me enough to go on for my campaign.

Of course all these are just temporary "safe houses". Vecna's true home... is a SECRET!
