Veritas and Miracles 2-3-03

15 minutes into Vweritas and I am not having any major problems with the acting. It's good to see High Priest Imhotep working... :)

Just a quick word to say that I thought Veritas was not so bad as others seemed to think. The acting was not bad for the first time the ensemble was together. The adventure set up was well done, considering how hard it is to come up with a new way to hide some ancient secret on this planet. The one thing that bothers me is the character relationship set up. I tire of the single parent trying to raise the kids thing almost as much as I tire of the misfit company of experts in their own unique fields thing. Still, it didn't ruin the episode for me. :)

The pace of tonight's episode is once again slow. The bulk of the story is focused on the relationship between father and son.

When it finally gets to the interesting part, I became interested. A huge pyramid (it was compared to the scale of the pyramid in Giza) in Antarctica which seems to be composed of floating layers? Not only does it give off heat but also have healing properties as you approach it?

Unfortunately, it did not provide a clue for the next episode or story. I'm a sucker when it comes to unveiling a clue they decoded, decrypted, or solved which then leads to more questions. It would make the audience part of that team.

I will continue to watch it but cautiously until they decided to quicken the pace and get the viewing audience more involved in the solving process. IOW, take a page from CSI.

Hear, hear! They need to decide if they are going to be an action/adventure show or a warm, touching Everwood rip-off.

The crystal skull is intriguing, but shown out of context it is hard to get excited about the upcoming story. :(

OK, I finally got around to watching both for 2-2-03.

Veritas... um, I skimmed through it.

Miracles, though... man, that was amazing. I was extremely pleased with it. I guess it also hints at the 'Top Men' that might know more about the coming Event, or suspect something. I was very pleased with the characters we got to see, none of whom had much to look forward to :( And the nurse.. oh my god.

And the other shows I tape to watch later:

Smallville was OK; minor revelation with the creatures there. Maybe a Kryptonian creature? Interesting thing the previous week, with Martha hiding the octogon. I have to wonder why.

Static Shock. Very good episode, very enjoyable.
