Vermin Query

An idea

Would a more focused article be a good idea? Instead of one on vermin, how about one on bees, beetles, jellyfish, or worms etc.

I think with the current glut of monster features, and certain comments made by the Paizo staff, that the key is to present a variety of vermin that are different enough from the existing vermin (i.e. not just poison and webs).

That said, some of the categories (especially worms) have enough interesting creatures that I think they could support a full query and stand a fighting chance.

Thanks for the tip on EX 1-2. I'd totally forgotten I'd downloaded them ages ago.

i'm totally fine with that, in fact it's really what i wanted to do (recall how we handled the plant and fey queries if you get my drift). don't know that i'd want to only submit for "beetle-only" and "spider-only" and such, as i'd want to mix it up, maybe one on intelligent vermin, one on aquatic vermin, and other such themes.

Of course, with the plant and fey queries, they pretty much through our groups out the window and just grabbed at will, smorgasbord style.

OK, finally got around to looking at this! yeesh!

i'm not going to suggest any cuts, but i will say that i have a few i'd really like to se in the query in one form or another, including: aratha, assassin bug, earthquake beetle, giant oil beetle, slicer beetle, giant bloodworm, ear seeker, fireball fly, gloomwing/tenebrous worm, goldbug, pernicon, brain spider, tarantella, stegocentipede, tiger fly


OK, since i'm not entirely sure where i want to go with all of this at the moment, i think we should break it up into themes. we can even do a poll on which ones would work the best. i think we could break it up by types (beetles, worms, spiders - could easily be more than one query at that); terrain (underground, extraplanar, aquatic, desert, forest, marsh), or other themes like gigantic bugs (Gargantuan and up), parasites, intelligent vermin, and swarms of vermin.

any other ideas on themes? just flip through what we have to work with, on these incredibly long posts:
