Pretty good finale. Pops certainly took a pounding.

So, was it Jake, Logan, Weevil, Wallace or someone else at the door?

I thought there would be a little more build to the killer's appearance and a little less action but it worked overall. I liked how it was her dad and not one of the boys who literally pulled her out of the fire at the end. I also liked getting rid of the creepy brother-Jake, not-Dad vibe. Having everyone turn out right was a good move. There is still plenty of darkness to spread around for next season with all the current characters.

Although I'm less worried about Logan's friends and more worried about Logan.

Oh, I'm not worried about them, I just want to know what's up with them, NOW! The fact I have to wait until next season bothers me greatly.

I kept wondering when someone was going to check up on Logan and am a bit baffled no one seemed to care what happened to him.

If it's not Duncan, I'm a bearded gnome.

Wallace doesn't make much sense for a 3am redevous. Logan is busy getting the crap beat of him, plus if he did show up it wouldn't have elicited the response from Veroniica it did, he was drunk and likely would be in bad shape, thus Veronicas smile and tone would be out of place. Weevil doesn't make any more sense than Wallace for the late night call, plus he would be busy expressing his displeasure with Logan. Not sure why you mention Jake (Kane?), did you actually mean Duncan?

Guess, you did mean Duncan above. Duncan was Veronica's ex-boyfriend, Jake was Duncan and Lilliy's father and Veronica's alleged father.

Like what's up with the Beav and pal, did Logan jump or did Weevil and company beat the crap out of him.

Finally Veronica's mom is a thoruoghly despicable and pathetic person.

Kind of reminds me of some of the stuff my mom has done... alcoholics are a real trainwreck. Yuck.

Wow. Interesting episode. Seemed shot very dark (darker than usual), which I don't know if I liked. No opening credits. Very little Veronica narrative, which signaled to me that it was a really different episode- something more significant.

Made the Aaron Echolls call, but I had the motive all wrong. I completely forgot the "I'm seeing an older man" conversation/flashback from pre-Lilly. Kind of hated to be left hanging on the Logan end of things- wonder what's happening there. I imagine he and Weevil just went out for a beer. ;)

Loved it. My wife was pissed at not getting to see who was at the door. I mean, she was really pissed.

Very good episode, and a lot of good stuff resolved. Ditto liking Veronica as not-sister and yes-daughter, congrats to the folks who suspected Aaron Echolls (I did as well, but only after hearing folks here and seeing the end of the second-to-last ep), and yeah, Mrs. Mars is a pathetic and rotten person.

Was anyone else really impressed with the actress who played Lilly? I saw her in Mean Girls, too, and my first thought was, "Ah, she's a ditz playing a ditz," except that I gradually realized that the two roles were different enough that she actually has to be a pretty good actress to pull off ditz without going into stereotype-land. I thought she did a great job all season of playing a free-spirit character who you could totally understand all the guys falling for but could also believe would piss off someone enough to get killed while never losing sympathy for her.

So, here's to next season!

I'm either dense or genious, but wasn't Beav and bud's big secret that Logan wasn't with them in Mexico? I assumed that's what they were going to take "to the grave."

Though, of course, Beav and bud are incredibly creepy, so that's certainly not conclusive.

And I vote Wallace or Duncan at the door.

yes, youre supposed to assume that dick and beavs big secret is that logan wasnt with them. they thought he killed lily too.

do they have another secret? maybe. i hope not , because theyre extremely un-interesting.

as for aaron echolls...im happy i finally called one right :D. go me.

duncan is probably at the door, but it could easily be logan and veronica is happy because she wants to apologize. or it could be wallace because he's happy/angry that veronica put his mother back with her dad. or it could be weevil and veronica wants to give him a ride too.
or it could be her mom.

i wouldnt be surprised to find her beaten, robbed, and maybe worse at the beginning of next season. We need another whodunit for next year.

I just wanted to add that I really liked the fight scene between Keith and Aaron. No music, just two guys trying their best to take the other guy out with whatever was at hand, and getting really nasty in the process.

Reminds me of something JMS said: "We don't need less violence on TV. We need more violence, but not the sanitized violence usually shown - no, show the blood and injuries, show us the consequences of violence."

I was glad for the "Dad's her dad" part. Creepy is a good word for it; that eased a bunch of stuff that was creepy.

My daughter was annoyed by the scene at the end, but I thought that was a cool cliff-hanger. The major mystery was dealt with, the newest stuff with the mother was set up well. The main thing had to do with her personal life. Obviously, lots of possibilities in that.

From Lilly's final appearance in Veronica's dream next year at school should be weird.
