Villains and Vigilantes

I am in fact running a bi-weekly M&M 2nd ed game titled "Project VIGILANCE" that is based on my much older V&V game that I ran LONG ago.

Right now, the characters have completed (survived?) Crisis at Crusader Cidial and FORCE and I am pretty sure my next installment will involve either the Inhuman Leage or V.I.L.E. (Villains In Larcenous Enterprises)… but I might just do something light with the The Amazing Floop Brothers.

I had great fun back in the day… in fact I remember when 2nd ed first came out, and my friends and I rode our bikes to Kalispell where the “big” (only) game store in our area was located. I lived in a small town about 21 miles away… oh memories :D

Reg: V&V

Played in a number the last one I ran "Cathedral" a mute telepath able to simultaneous communicate with the rest of the group and was mute because his voice had been turned into a power blast. Only one other player rolled as little powers as me and during the game his brother (the gm) arranged for him to alter his character gaining turning from someone who switched his power on to someone looking like the hulk.
Almost crippled twice during the first two scenarios, the best part for me was when we ran into a creature possessing a cloak forcing its wearer to become a villain. Having knocked out the villain one of the other players picked up his cloak and was about to put it on, my character reacted by yelling a warning and since his voice is a power blast he took the cloak out in one shot!
This character was the only V&V character I ran in an actual V&V campaign the rest were just one shot adventures of which the best one was a Martial Law meets the Shadow character who was a martial artist with the ability to teleport through shadows and invisibility handy when the villains have brainwashed an army of civilians to jump the PCs only to have all but one ported clear (the exception was too heavy!) and noone of them went after my character more likely because the GM didn't notice!
Never played Super World nor Mutants & Masterminds but played in a few Golden Heroes games back in the 90's and even went as far as develop a Secret wars style campaign that i never got around to running only to have all the characters I had generated both villains and heroes to playtest it got thrown way by accident...
Still have the box set and the only part I wasn't able to obtain was the Supervisor's Kit unless I missed one supplement...
Was I the only one to love this game?
