What the book says about vegepymy exactly just statblock? Variants of it?
Full MM style write up, including a side bar about russet molds. There are three vegepygmy statblocks: the normal ones, a chief, and thorny (a pet/mount)

This is misleading. The monstrous races that don't get fluff in chapter 2 are the Goblinoids, Orc, Kobold and Yuan-Ti Pureblood. While they don't get fluff in chapter 2. All of them get massive sections in chapter 1 that eclipses any phb race.
Lashers: highest caste, the best warriors and trained in special skills like trap making
Hunters: trained in weapons, but that's about it
Gatherers: self explanatory
Pariahs: the lowest of the low. muckers, miners, etc
NOW super weird? LOL, they've always been pretty weird, looking like a regular sized Danny DeVito's head on a doll.
The Xvarts get a retcon (though their story as "clones of a god" seems pretty much like...a Volo-ism.), but what I find interesting about their inclusion here is the mention of Raxivort, which is an old Xvart god in Greyhawk. Between him and the snatching of Kyuss, there's a little of FR biting Greyhawk's style here. Laaame.

I keep telling you that FR has just up and consumed the leftovers of Greyhawk at this pointThe Xvarts get a retcon (though their story as "clones of a god" seems pretty much like...a Volo-ism.), but what I find interesting about their inclusion here is the mention of Raxivort, which is an old Xvart god in Greyhawk.
