Well, none of those choices would cover the whole spectrum of D&D--all editions, all settings--so I'd say the poll can only be expected to cover 3.XE.

Therefore, naturally, I voted for Meepo.

(If we were just talkin' 1E, on the other hand, I'd probably vote for "the Flumph." ;) )

all except owlbear (that is, if meepo the mighty means koblold, otherwise it's all except owlbear and meepo the mighty)
voted for red dragon as it seems most deserving of the title (and many other)

I selected Red Dragon...though I kind of regret it in hindsight. When I think of D&D, the first thing I think of is a Red Dragon...but when I see a Red Dragon I don't immediately think of D&D like I do when I see a beholder or a mind flayer. So I don't know...I don't think I could really choose.

Interesting.

Right now, the red dragon is leading!

No idea how that is happening. Damn people and their inferior views!

Vote Beholder! It's the right answer

A dragon may be generic fantasy but a beholder makes it D&D

It is the same deal with magic
Fireball is generic fantasy but magic missile makes it D&D
