Given that at 16th level, the same tactics we used would likely still work, does anyone want to "restrict" certain tactics???
I do think its worth not doing the "Antimagic field + grapple" scenario again. Not because of anything wrong with it, but since the goal is for the simulation to showcase "any old party vs Vecna", it would be good to see groups winning or losing trying different methods. If one method is always working or failing, then people could point to the method as the problem, rather than Vecna.

Perhaps I would love to see the party just go in with very simple tactics, because I think they will still beat Vecna, and that's very telling. Just go in and beat em to hell!

Well, if anyone wants to make one of Treatmonk's Archer builds, that will help do it.

Personally, with the PC I am making, I think one of his archer's helping and we might be enough to do it together if we're a bit lucky...

That's my plan! I made a Barbarian, not because I generally play Barbarians, but because I know players who absolutely would just rush at him with their Barbarian, with no thought to survival. Barbarians are darn hard to kill, so I want to see if Vecna can kill me.

One of my personal reasons for playing this out is to see how FUN Vecna is to fight, and if I need to tweak him before running my friends against him. That first fight, the answer was "no".

That was almost as bad as the 20-round fight I played vs Accererak in a 4e version of Tomb of Horrors. I spent most of that fight stunned, and yet Accererak never made me feel even remotely threatened. Just bored. When I ran it for my own players, I rebuilt the stat-block and he was a lazer-eyed shooting speed-metal death skull of DOOM. It was awesome.

I want to make sure I do that again.

Here is my new PC for the next fight: Morcolt Cosidar is a Shadar-Kai Warlock (Fiend Patron/ Pact of the Blade).

I've already updated Egar in the Roll20 fight to Morcolt's scores. I added indicators for his Blessing of the Raven Queen and 5th-level Spell Slots.

I think I really like PCs done with Monster Statblocks. Which is funny, because I'm not very fond of the 5e Monster Statblock for monsters (I think it should be less cluttered with obvious information and yet include everything that a monster can do).

You may have inspired me to start building PCs using Monster blocks.

i wonder what 4-5 martial beat sticks would do against him (say 2 barbarians and 2 war clerics and a fighter)

I have a stat block inspired form-fillable pdf if you want it. Here is a screen shot:

I have multiple versions, if you are interested I'll put them in a zip file and DM you.

So far we have:

Broodhuz The White Dragonborn Ancestral Guardian Barbarian
Morcolt the Shadar-Kai Fiend Patron Warlock

Anyone want to add their PC for the next round of fighting Vecna? We need two more 16th-level PCs.

I have some extra time this weekend, so if we get the rest of the party finished, we can try to get in some rounds over the next few days.
