Shadow is annoyed by the hobgoblin shaking it off. He opens up his attack again (DC 16 suggestion, 3 pp), but aiming to control rather than kill. "Stand aside and you will not be hurt."

OOC: 10/16 pp

The Sniper is on a building to your left, perhaps twenty-five feet up, and maybe forty feet away.

The hobgoblins ahead of you are perhaps forty feet away.

Haltash finish his manifestation, creating an 2nd level astral construct with Cleave and Trip power. It will appear 25 feet away from Haltash. The construct will charge the nearest hobgoblin.

Haltash will take his crossbow and shoot at one of teh hobgoblin not in melee yet (including teh sniper if he hasn't been manipulated successfully by Shadow)

[SBLOCK=OOC]Astral Construct attack roll: 13 (I forgot to include teh charge bonus in the roll).
If it hit (I doubt), it is for 4 damage and teh free trip attempt would be at 17.
If it kill (I doubt), the cleave attack would be 15 and the damage would 6 (and would use teh previous trip roll for this trip attempt, as he wouldn't have trip the death one)

Halatsh attack roll is 13 for 7 damage[/SBLOCK]

T'Ranis moves towards one of the Falchion-wielding hobgoblins, and notices that the goblin has already taken a few minor slices in his scuffl with the human warriors. T'Ranis' bolt, however, is much more than a "minor slice" - it pierces the armour and is buried in the hobgoblin's flesh. He lets out a primal howl of pain.

Shadow makes his Suggestion (8) against a hobgoblin carrying a shield. The hobgoblin stares at Shadow, and nods. He takes a few steps back, keeping his shield ready to protect him from further attacks.

The human warriors, seeing another group of people arriving on the scene, panic and pull back. A few are sliced down by hobgoblins, but most escape to relative safety. They hover perhaps forty feet away, being rallied by a sullen-faced man with absolutely no hair. He yell "come on, boys! Just more for us to kill!"

But the humans are not convinced.

Guardian gets ready for whoever wil move to attack.

The three active hobgoblins with shields regain their footing, and shout with glee as the humans pull away. Two of them charge Guardian, while the third moves to attack T'Ranis.

Charge attacks on Guardian, Guardian, and T'Ranis (1d20+8=17, 1d6+2=8, 1d20+8=17, 1d6+2=3, 1d20+8=28, 1d6+2=8)
(yikes)
Crit Confirmation on T'Ranis (1d20+8=24, 1d6+2=4)

Two slam into Guardian, but their blades cannot break the Warforged's defnces. However, the one that charges T'Rans is able to catch the Scout unawares - he brings a scimitar down and it is only because of a warning shout from Tondrek that the scout is able to move to prevent his head from being sliced clean off. However, he doesn't move fast enough to prevent the blade from cutting painfully down his side, drawing a thin ribbon of blood that soon blossoms.

Lori...

The Hobgoblin Sniper moves into position and fires two shots at Lori. Both shots hit, for a total of 17 damage. One arrow strikes her square in the stomach, and when she looks down, she sees that almost an inch of arrow has buried in her abdomen. It hurts incredibly, and she stumbles around for a moment.

Haltash manifests his astral construct, which charges into a clump of hobgoblins. Unfortunately, even with it's charge, it doesn't hit.

Haltash is equally unsuccessful when he fires a shot at the sniper, who has already ducked behind some wood.

Tondrek ducks into an open doorway, resting his shield against a wall, and draws out his crossbow.

The two hobgoblins with Falchions move quickly - one going afer Guardian, and a wounded one hoping to finish off T'Ranis.

Both hobgoblins are unsuccessful.

T'Ranis will tumble away and attack. (1d20+11=28, 1d20+7=18, 1d8+3+1d6=8)

He easilly avoids provoking any attacks of opportunity from his adversaries, and his return shot should drop his earlier target unless it's deflected by armor.

T'Ranis, being wounded, will try to end his movement next to a more melee oriented ally, making sure to reload his crossbow immediately.

ooc: Is T'Ranis at 6/18 rather than 8/18? It looks like he took 12 damage, right?

ooc: It occurs to me that T'Ranis does not yet have Precise shot, so if his original target is in melee he will target someone else who isn't. The two who attacked him shouldn't be in melee range of anyone, but I don't know if one of those was the one he shot.
