Tune in to WHRW 90.5 Binghamton Saturday afternoon!

www.whrwfm.org

Live broadcasting for alumni weekend, it IS college radio though. I'll be on from 12-1 pm, EDT. That would be 9am PDT, and 6am if you happen to live in Hawaii.

I'm planning on playing some classical music (maybe Mahler's 6, mvt. 3), some prog rock (Dream Theater probably), some classic rock (Zeppelin, Beatles)... it'll be cool. You all should listen!

HEY!!!

WHRW!

I went to Binghamton--1990 through 1994. Go to the music library and pull out the first two CDs made up of bands who were on the station: Moe's Meat Sandwich and The Veggie Pita From Pluto...check out the songs by The Acoustically Bent.

That's me singing, man!

What a small world. All we need now is Barak Blackburn, host of the original Mad Trivia Party.

you meet binghamton grads in the strangest places! i too graduated in '94. tom cashel, i had no idea you went to binghamton too--and during those hoary days when in went from suny binghamton to binghamton university.

tom, i certainly remember seeing posters for your band around campus. i may even have seen you once at the on-campus pub--did you ever play there? unfortunately [?], i lived off-campus with my then-girlfriend for my 2 1/2 years at binghamton, so i had only a small cadre of close friends--what was your major? english lit major, myself.

Yo, LightPhoenix--you find those CDs yet?

Leopold, I hope you're asking for pix of the Bent...I'll dig some up and scan them.

Hey there Darkbard--The Acoustically Bent played a few times in the campus Pub; we were just three guys (guitar, mandolin, three vocals)...during one show I dropped my jeans--revealing American flag boxers--to recite an impromtu weirdified version of the pledge. We also opened for Boiled in Lead when they played at the theater on campus (can't recall the name). Hmm...played a show at the Rime Cellar in Dickinson too, and also at the Battle of the Worst Bands a couple times. Eventually we bacame Schrodinger's Cat, played in the Student Union, at West Side Cheers, many shows at the Taz.

I was a Creative Writing major...Barry Targan was my arch-nemesis. :)
