War of the Worlds second teaser

It's kinda weird.

The first trailer interested me.

The second one had me yawning and going, "Oh, it's just Spielberg and emotional manipulation again." This is a very rare case where the second trailer actually made me less interested in seeing the film. **sigh** I guess I am not the target audience for it.

I think its still too early to judge how close this is to the book. Its updated to the current time, so that's a change in itself(and one that doesn't both me), but beyond that the trailers haven't given us much to go on.

I'm basing that on some of the other information that has slipped out so far...

Spoiler:
The aliens aren't from Mars for one.

That is a bit...odd...care to elaborate on that or is that all you've got?

Spielberg stated as much himself, but did not clarify further.

Cool Visuals and sound effects

If nothing else the teaser trailer illustrated some decent visual and sound effects. I like the way this heading. I'm really concerned about the ending, however. The last few sci-fi movies I've seen had bad endings, IMHO.

so the aliens won't be affected by human germs?
That could be a good thing, since that ending is somewhat anti-climatic.

And its kind of been done in movie terms already in ID4. Though I still like the little twist on how the humans win in WotW, so I hope its at least similar.
