I have been becoming a World of Warcraft Junkie..........it's draining my soul........must stop playing.....seriously I'm going to have to cancel my subscription.....
Anyhow I was wondering if the warcraft RPG is any good? Sound off and let me know.
I've enjoyed every book that's come out for it. The bad thing though, is I'm not unbiased. I enjoy Warcraft to begin with so enjoy the books just for the information they present on the world setting and options they provide for any D&D game.
And yes, an OGL version is coming out latter this year. Some of the new material, like the last book, I think it's Shadows and Light, has a lot of epic and near god level material in it so will probably be useable for only certain campaigns.
Personally, I like it, but there are areas that may not quite line up. Also, if you've become interested in the Warcraft world primarily through WoW, you might wait for the revised core book before investing. It's going to overhaul the stuff from the first run and add a bunch of new content to bring it much more in line with WoW.
Also, despite the fact that I can't afford to play WoW ($$ or time-wise), I am a giant Warcraft whore. Give me a shout if you do decide to start running a game. On a related note, if you're going to pimp that thread in your .sig, you should check it now and then.
Some players in my gaming group used to have characters made from the Warcraft RPG book. Quite cool characters. We did however never play the Warcraft rpg itself. Only used races and ideas from it. This means it is at least an interesting book.
I have long enjoyed Warcraft (played 2, 3, frozen throne, and now WoW) and have greatly enjoyed the RPG books. Though I have never run a Warcraft game it is one of the few campaign settings I'd ever consider using aside from my own. Warcraft has also helped me evolve my idea of Orcs, changing them from a mindless horde race to one with a real background and plot potential.
