Wardens in Fantasy

I think she fits perfectly:

Slaine is the first comics character I though of when I first heard of the warden class ! He's a champion of Nature, he can polymorph when he goes in his frenzied battle rage ; then he's more like a barbarian/warden hybrid class, but the polymorph and Nature's champion things are here !

hmmm never thought of Slaine, although he does prefer big double handed weapons when not Warp Spasm.

In Warp Spasm he would dual weld or just use his giant hands.

Wardens reminded me a bit of the Dervish class from the Guild Wars crpg since their Avatar powers are similar to the Warden's shapeshifting.

In many ways, the class reminds me of some earlier edition fighter/magic-users. The class has decent up-front smacking potential and a nice array of magical powers to aid this. The clas has it's own built-in buff spells, as it were.

When I did the initial work on this class with Rob Heinsoo, I had the forestals (from the Thomas Covenant books) in mind for the warden class. Not a perfect fit, but it's close.

When I first read the description of the class I said to myself, "Hile Troy".

Any time someone's inspired by the TC chronicles, they deserve XP.

Cool! That's the vibe I got too.

No doubt about this. I really loved these books, though I only read the First and Second Chronicles.
