Warforged and Mummy Rot

Macgyvercas

First Post
Okay, so I'm running a campaign over the summer, and one of the players wants to be a Warforged. No biggie. The question is though is that there is a strong possiblity of them facing a mummy at some point and I want to know how that would pan out. The SRD states that Warforged are immune to disease, but it also states that Mummy Rot is an extraordinarily powerful curse, not a natural disease. It seems straightforward, but I'm trained to treat anything that looks too simple as a trap.

Any help?

I guess that would depend on what your warforged is made of. Does it have any organic elements (like wood or leather or sinew)? If so, how much?

Answering that will help to determine how much the rot would affect the warforged.

Though not a "natural" disease, Mummy Rot is still a disease (supernatural disease). Warforged is immune to disease, natural or not. So as a L3+ Paladin. Both of them are thus immune to Mummy Rot.

On the other hand, a L5+ Monk is not immune to supernatural or magical disease. So he is affected by Mummy Rot.

Okay, fair enough. Next question: Vampire Con drain. My guess is that it would affect them since in the FAQ provided by Wizards, they are affected by wounding weapons.

They are affected by Con Drain. Because that is an Ability Drain and Warforged are subject to ability drain.

Oh god not again.. All=All just saying that before this devolves.

So as to attribute something other than an exasperated sigh. Even though the Vampire Con drain comes from blood it still works via RAW. However since that is their "blood sucking" ability I would call him immune, but that would be a 100% house rule.

Question for you - where in the SRD does it mention Warforged?

They are not OGL since they were Eberron specific and then included in a later MM volume (but not OGL as I recall). They are not included in the official WotC SRD, nor are living constructs as a
type" for that matter.

Fine, ECS. I tend to just use SRD because it's easier than remembering every single abbriviation known to man regarding D&D.

Well, I guess the question is what are you hoping this mummy enemy to be in the campaign? Is it just another enemy in which happens to go with the setting or is he more of a boss in which you are worried about effectiveness?
