Keith - consider the idea about the illusory parents stolen. That'd be a real nasty, underhanded way to brainwash warforged. Now who would be diabolical enough to do something like that?

Suddenly I'm seeing a warforged who had his memory wiped by the Mourning and was raised by a living major image -- sort of a Truman Show thing. "What do you mean, mom and dad are illusions?"

But if they were raised by illusions, why would they consider illusions to be any less real than "real" people? If you asked them "what's it like to be raised by illusions?" how could they respond besides, "I dunno, what's it like to be raised by non-illusions?"

Because they didn't know that their parents were illusions, and these illusions acted like real people the whole time. I'd guess this'd come as quite a shock, even for a living construct...
