Warforged by any other name

May not work for you . . . but in a while I'll be introducing Warforged to shake up my realms campaign. There's going to be a small invasion . . . and the "creatures" will procreate by capturing humanoids and changing them.

I'm not going to "name" them to the PCs, the players will take to calling them something, and that will be the name they become known by.

But in my heart, I'll call them CYBERMEN.

Rassilon.

Spellborn or Mageborn. Or perhaps the Tireless, seeing as they can keep on working without ever tiring.

Sentient golem, or Sentient in common speech could also work. Or maybe the Unliving.

I'll support the notion of simply calling the Forged. It emphasises they are not 'natural', but the product of a (mortal) creator.

Automaton is the word that popped into my head.

Of course, there is also the Grandia 2 mistranslation of that word. They turned Automaton into Automata.

But I kind of like the idea of having two names for them, the original and the vernacular. Best two I've seen for that are Tireless or Forged.
