Warforged death save bonus

"When you roll a death save, you can take the better of
your die roll or 10 as the result. You still die at your negative
hit point total."

Does this mean warforged can only die from taking damage = their bloodied value past 0 hp?

There's always the possibility of something hitting you with penalties to death saves--I don't know of any power that does that yet, but it's a possibility somewhere down the line.

Thanks for the input. I'm making a warforged warden, and was wondering if this racial bonus would work well with the font of life class feature.

Btw Im fairly sure this is thread 10,000 in this forum.

Warforged
- Die if taken to negative bloodied hp
- Die if they fail 3 death saves

That being said:
- They can choose to take the higher of their roll or take 10

Meaning, a wf will eventually roll a 20+ (spend a HS and regain consciousness) and not die until then, assuming no penalty, or combat ends and something stabilizes them. In 3.5, wf never died unless taken below -10 hp, so this is a similar mechanic.

It wouldn't. Dying is not "an effect that a save can end," so font of life doesn't work on death saves.

A save can end the dying condition.
How is death not an effect a save can end?

Its listed with the other conditions that a save can end. Is this explicitly stated or is it a DM choice?

Not the only way. Let's see... medusa petrification (and similar powers) can kill the warforged after 3 failed saves. The Fell Taint just needs to make the warforged unconscious to kill him. A shambling mound that has grabbed the warforged will syphon the life out of it and eventually kill it (though this last example is one of eventual negative bloodied... you just get there faster than if you had taken single damage of that amount).
