Warforged ECL 0???? Yeah right!!!!

I notice that a Warforged Psion (and many other magic using Warforged) have one interesting problem, especially at low levels when Repair magic is not easy to come by).

During the 8 hour "rest period", a human psion can sleep, regain some hit points, AND regain power points.

A warforged psion can *either* rest to regain power points, *or* work to repair itself to regain hit points, but not both (unless it has 16 hours available to it).

That makes for hard choices at lower levels.

Do psiforged have the same problem?

I would if WotC had search on their boards :D

It still baffles me that people haven't figured out that Google can search for anything.

A search for the following...

Keith Baker Eberron Players Guide site:wizards.com

...turns up 10 pages. With a little better guidance as to what he said you could probably narrow that down to 2 or so, and by looking at the previews you should be able to find your topic.

I have no idea what you are referring to, so I can't give a link here but Google is your friend.

To the best of my knowledge, psi-forged get the benefit of extra power points. I do not know whether those extra power points recharge "automatically" or have to be "filled" by the psion during an uneventful day, for later use.

But a psi-forged warforged loses the benefit of adamantine body. You can choose one or the other, but not both, since both are 1st level only feats and the warforged only has one such feat to spend.

I laugh derisivly at the idea that being immune to energy drain or disease destroys the element of horror for a warforged in Ravenloft. Especially if you decide to use Taint rules (which they should in no way be immune to). Reduces the personal fear of infection that such creatures may inflict, but a simple shift in flavor and tactics can easily make up for it. Draw parallels between animated dead and the character. Make the character fear for people he cares about becoming infected. Let the character feel invincible after defeating a zombie or ghoul horde only to find that a different undead has some other horror in store to fear. Strahd or somebody close to him has a laboratory, right? Say that person is curious and seeks to capture the metal creature alive for experimentation.

Just because undead plagues and energy drains don't affect a warforged character doesn't mean that they are immune to horror. It doesn't take all that much of "special consideration" either.

I'd play and allow them to be played as ECL 0, but a whole +1 would be such a waste of a level.

*still thinks Gundark should hold off his 'anger' on the Warforged until they reach the Spire of Long Shadows* if they come out of that unharmed, then I might agree. :p

I think warforged are very good at the small number of things they are really designed for, adequete for a few uses and sub-optimal for a number of things.

One thing that I haven't seen brought up very much is that they don't need to sleep.

For any game that involves doing things other than dungeon crawling and killing people, increasing your daily output %50 or so is of considerable value. If I'm a professor and I need to find some graduate students to assist in my research, you'd better believe I'm hiring any warforged I can find as long as they aren't complete cretins.

I could see disgruntled humans, half orcs and whatnot complaining that warforged fighters are taking their jobs as caravan guards, bodyguards and city watchmen. How can you compete with something that is just about as effective at fighting (if not moreso), probably don't require their employers to put out for equipping them with decent armor, and don't eat and never sleep?

You can't get a warforged sentry drunk. You can't wait for them to get sleepy towards the end of their shift. You can't poison their food or water. It's never actually described, but I expect they don't have to go to the bathroom, either. If you had garrison a border crossing or fort, why would you ever hire a human if there were warforged available?

Very ineffectively on a forum. A forum search can search posts by a single user. Searching for Hellcow will give you hundreds of hits, many of which he isn't participating in.

u know there are always going to be pro and anti warforged.as for ravenloft well yeah no energy drain ..but ravenloft is so anti demihuman some places burn elves can u imagen what they would do to a warforged???? he could never walk freely anywere i think there balanced good enuff

Gly is right, Keith/Hellcow doesn't just post here. What you truly need is someone with supporter's account to do searching.
