Loathe them is an understatement on my feelings about Warforged I sincerely hope they aren't in the PHB I. If I wanted robot PCs I would be playing Star Wars not DnD.
I agree 100%. However, if Eberron gamers want warforged, they should be available in 4Eberron, i.e. the Eberron book for 4E.

If they are in the PHB2 or 3 or an Eberron PHB thats fine and dandy but I don't really see why they should be a core PHB I race.

Warforged

My immediate reaction was to vote for the "put them in the PHB2 or 3" choice, but I reconsidered. I recently started a new campaign, and out of six players, three have never played D&D at all and two haven't played since 1E or 2E days. Both new players and old have expressed interest or a liking for this race after seeing warforged miniatures and thumbing through the Eberron CS book I have laying about. People like warforged! Put 'em in the PHB along with some fluff text explaining that they are very rare awaked survivors of some old civilization that existed before the "points of light in a dark world". That's going to generally be my take on them as I transition my homebrew to 4E.

I voted 'meh.' I like them, but it seems to me they belong in Eberron. I'd like to see an early adaptation in DDI, but they seem vaguely out of place in the Player's Handbook.

I love warforged with all of my body, etc. And I'll be very happy if they appear in the PHB. The raving and ranting it'll create on the boards and the resultant amusement for me will also be a fringe benefit :)

I don't like the concept too much.

I don't think that they should be dropped altogether, but they certainly should not be in the PHB. They belong to Eberron, and/or to some extra book we get along the way. But they should not be core. They're too far away from classical D&D phantasy for that.

Plus, there's the whole "If it's in the Core book, it should be in every Campaign Setting" argument. I don't want Warforged to appear in the Realms, for example.

Hey all! :)

I am a fan of anything thats cool, different and interesting...and the warforged are all of those.

Why should D&D recycle the same fantasy stereotypes over and over again, lets have new classes and new races, mix things up a bit, surprise us.

I don't mind 'em. I'd rather they not be core, but of the Eberron races, I'd far rather see warforged in the book than changelings or shifters.
