Warhammer 3E - Adventures?

Kelon

First Post
There`s a lot of discussions about the new system and the new machanics of Warhammer 3E but I found no information about how FFG will handle adventures.

Will we see adventure boxes with tokens and maps or will they sell only rules expansionses and give the players adventures to download?

I haven`t seen a announcment for a starter adventure.

What do you think?

Hmmm....You're right Kelon. Nothing mentioned about any adventures.

Well, I can only speculate at this point, so let's hope they do something like put out cool tiles like they did for Warhammer Quest; however I don't know if WFRP 3e will be a tactile game.

Minis aren't included in the game, so probably not.

The game isn't even out yet, so it isn't surprising the game has no 'ventures yet. :)
Naturally, but since an expansion has already been announced it isn't so far fetched to wonder if some adventure material will also be published close to the release of the game.

There is no map. Ok that's technically untrue, there is no square by square (or hex by hex) map combat. Combat was abstracted out to only deal with relative distances (similar to Agon).

There are no minis included but there are standees.

As far as adventures themselves location cards were mentioned. It's unclear what they will entail.

Well, unless you're in the D&D business, adventures simply don't sell (if only because you can only sell one copy per group, instead of one copy per player), so the likely reason we haven't heard is that FFG will do what they have done so far (and Black Industries before them):

1) Publish and sell campaign and rules supplements. (Now, sell us dice too...)

2) Put up a few adventures for free download on their web site.

3) Hope those adventures are enough to reach critical mass (as without adventures, there's no game)

Of course, plenty of publishers have made the mistake of not making sure there are plenty of interesting adventures and stories for their game line.

Myself, I'm convinced the best draw-in for a new game is a fantastic adventure campaign (professionally designed and published) that showcases the rules and the world.

I haven't heard anything about how or if adventures will be released. Our group has a homebrew 2e side campaign that we've been playing so I've never really even seen any adventures for the old (current?) system. I'm looking forward to checking it all out though! So far it sounds really different, and different is exciting to me.
