It did take me a while to navigate the careers section though but I think I have it now.

Were you familiar with the 1ed careers? I'm just asking so as to know whether or not the careers in 2ed are so radically different from 1ed that there is a learning curve.

One thing that I always liked about WFrp is that magic is dangerous ( esp Demonology and Necromancy ). I remember my Demonologist character, he went slowly insane over time and suffered gross physical mutations as well.

See link above but it is still there, magic IS chaos, you can go insane and worse.

I was unsure about WFrp2 but it looks like it is something I'm going to try out.

So, where do you live (since I'm jonesin' for a WFRP game) and do you think you'll be able to recruit other players?

Most aren't extremely different, though they're better balanced. Some of them make more sense now, like the military careers. There are more Wizard/Priest careers but not divided up into different types like "Druid" or "Alchemist" any more. I think there are a few more race-exclusive classes too.

I was a playtester - you won't regret the purchase in the least. Nearly every change was an improvement - and I was a HARDCORE WFRP player for years.

Only one disagreement - I would have preferred the old four class breakdown of Warrior, Rogue, Academic, and Ranger to just having a big old pile of random classes. I want the PCs to at least have that much choice, though I do like the random professions within those classes. If I ever run it I am adding a new table with the old breakdown.

Other than that I agree completely, a much better balanced and written game.

Not significantly so, I've just always found the swarm of carreres difficult to navigate.

Its simpler when your working from a specific character instead of just reading through them all.
