Warhammer FRP

I played v1 and had some issues but also had fun. I've played WHFB and so know the setting well now, and got a chance to play a one-off of this new version and liked it.

It's been slotted into our playgroup for the game after next.

How is the magic system in play I've been reading some very positive reviews of it in...um...reviews but not anywhere talking about how it plays out.
Better than I thought, fast, simple and flexable. Spells have a target number, caster has magic points; this is number of dice he/she can roll to get to target number, doubles, triples and quads are bad. Componets add +n to total rolled.

Does the whole 'whammy of chaos' thing come into play as much as it looks like it would? I mean, there are no magic points so you can cast away am I correct? The only danger is the Curse? (Kind of sounds like Paradox in the old MAGE:TA)

Had a game going, was very. We had to cancel do do people not showing up.

But heard if you are playing D20 you are playing WFRPG.

You can cast as many spells as you want to a day...as long as you are not sucked into chaos, go crazy or have your head explode. :D

We play every other saturday here at my house. It has rekindled my love for RPGs and (since they never tried 1e in the past) has added that "new game buzz" for my players. It's a truly fun system.

Is anyone out there actually playing Warhammer FRP? Just nod if you can hear me. Is anyone running this at home?

Yep. Started a campaign before summer, picking it up now after summer. It's replaced D&D at my table for a while, I'm looking into running the Shackled City hardback next year!
