System looks very workable and gives a DM a lot of options, protective cicles, variable winds, special locations. Have to see how it works in action but looks workable.

So there are options for playing races other than human, dwarf, elf, or halfling? That always bothered me about WHFRP in the past.

Have the cleaned up the skill / combat systems at all? Not that they were that horrible to begin with, but could've done with a bit of tweaking.

I might be stopping by the FLGS today after all.

Mutation can lead to fly or hover. Also some monster templates (vampire?) may end up giving you the talent but I did not see a career that gives it and monsters are limited in the book.

No careers give you the flier or hoverer talents. They are in the system to handle monsters and animals.

Not really, some monsters (orc) and such are stat'ed and adding careers is not hard, plus other races could be published later.

Oh, so there is material provided for playing non-vanilla races. Great. What do we get? Goblins? Skaven? Ogres?

You have to remember this is Warhammer, and the game is set in the Old Empire, monsters are out there but it is the enemy within that is your biggest foe. I do not see ture non-vanilla races for a little while yet.
