Warlock and Pr Classes

Crothian

First Post
In the Complete Arcane it says that a few of the Pr Cl a Warlock can take with his spell like abilities. But I cannot figure out what the "+1 to caster level" gives the Warlock. Does his damage of his eldritch blast continue to increase? Does he get more invocations?

I think there is a Warlocks and Prestige Classes paragraph, which covers that (in the Warlock description?).

Basically EB and everything incantation-related improves, along with the caster level.

second question: while the rules don't cover it is there any reason why a Warlock should not be able to lower his damage on the EB?

Well, if it acts like spells like Fireball, then I suppose you could lower the damage. But look at Magic Missile. That is a 1st level spell that scales in damage, and I don't beleive you can voluntarily (sp) only fire off one magic missle, can you?

I think you can lower a spell down to the minimum caster level, would just be reasonable to allow the same for the Warlock's invocations (including the EB).

You can reduce your effective caster level, when casting a spell, down as far as the minimum caster level required to cast the spell. This, of course, affects other level-dependant variables in addition to damage.

As for Eldrich Blast, the damage is not directly affected by caster level, but I would allow the player to reduce her damage to as little as 1d6, if so desired.

Even if you can't, fire one missile at your target and the rest at the wall or something.

Or you could just fire the excess missiles to attack the darkness!!

Can, the Target for Magic Missile is "Up to five creatures, no two of which can be more than 15 ft. apart". Unless the Darkness or Wall are somehow living, can't target them...

Doesn't matter though, as the same wording says "Up to five creatures" which tells me it doesn't have to be max targets...

Why am I even typing this? lol

well, I imagine it says up to five since you can't get more then 5 missiles and can target the same creture with more then one missile
