Another Question: Would a metamagic feat affect eldritch blast or an invocation?

Basically not. Because invocations (including Eldritch Blast) are spell-like abilities and not spells. But you can apply feats for modifying spell-like abilities such as Maximize Spell-Like Ability.

And Complete Arcane specifies an exception. Sudden metamagic feats can be applied to invocations. That means, while Still Spell feat is useless for your invocations, you can learn Sudden Still feat and can apply it to your invocations.
