Warlock pacts: Which is for you?

Forty2Fame

First Post
Now I'm not specifically planning on making a warlock, but I think they are a brilliant class an hope to play with some in the future. However, by name alone and the stigmas that go with it, I expect to see an overwhelming number of tiefling Infernal pact warlocks. I myself however like the less typical specializations in all the games I play, and find the Fey pact my favorite by a head and shoulders. So, players, easy my troubled mind. Tell me what kind of lock you are making.

For me it is Star Pact then Fey Pact for my favourite Pacts, with Infernal coming in last.

Star Pact, since I like the mystery of it, and that your warping fate and destiny, and Fey Pact since I have always liked/studied Fey mythology.

Star pact for the awesome fluff descriptions of the powers.

Fey pact for the gameplay awesomeness.

Infernal pact for multiclassing in my current game, because my nest brother (dragonborn) is a Infernal warlock. ;)

Infernal is just too fun for words. I don't even mind it being utterly suboptimal for Tieflings---who said the path to ULTIMATE POWER would be easy?

Honestly, the only reason I like the Infernal path is 1) It's crunchy (does the most damage), and 2) there are more powers for it compared to the Star and Fey pact.

Fey and Star are more intriguing and engaging, both for the roleplaying, and the engaging abilities.

Star pact is very promising, I think; it's vaguely Lovecraftian, but the emphasis is on the distant spheres and maddening wisdom of cosmos, not on slobber, slime and tentacles.

I like the infernal one. It seems like it'd do a decent job at enabling an in-your-face type of warlock, which should be fun.

cheers

Our groups warlock is a Tiefling Infernal pact

my preference and hopefully my next concept would be a star pact Eldarin Warlock, who is how shall we put it touched, a bit like Xzar with a hint of edwin from the baldurs gate PC series with some unique additions.
