D&D 5E Warlock Spell Invocation Question

For example: Misty Visions.

"You can cast silent image at will without spending a spell slot or material components."

Does this mean you automatically "know" silent image?

Or do you have to have silent image as one of your "Spells Known" in order to use these benefits?

You do not have to know silent image already in order to use the invocation, but neither does the invocation add the spell to your list of spells known. It merely gives you access to that spell within its specific parameters.

Considering Silent Image isn’t even on the Warlock spell list, I’m going to go with “it doesn’t have to be one of your Known Spells.”
