Well if it makes you feel any better I'd only do this in FR AND only when it comes to City of the Spider Queen. :p

That doesn't really excuse it. "Oh, I don't like the drow, and I do like Orcus, and I really want him to be powerful, so I'll incite party infighting and deliberately play a character I know will cause either mine or another guy's character to leave the party.

*thinks people are being a little harsh here at least in terms of this ONE character*

I don't really think so. Surely you see that you are actively promoting party infighting. In my book, that is a serious attack to the game flair. And doubly so when you say that the player of the paladin doesn't like the situation.

Anyway I am working with the party. Just the fact we have a paladin might be my demise is very likely.

The Paladin's Player HAS stated he doesn't feel comfortable and feels a little out of place in a group.

If he'd play his character properly, he would insist that you leave the party. We're not talking about a social faux-pas here "I'm from sembia, so I don't care much for adventuring with a cormyran fighter, since things are itchy between our countries". The very rules state that he may not go on adventure with you.

But so far it appears the DM doesn't mind or doesn't care so long as I'm not horribly evil. Which will be not for a long while JUST yet.

But you do plan to get real nasty. Do you really feal that it's alright to make another player feel bad and in a tight spot just so that you can live out your fantasies of Hell on Faerûn?

If it were an evil campaign, it may be alright, but it's not, and you have a paladin on board.

(And, as I said, even in an evil campaign I don't want infighting. I did DM a City campaign with evil characters - some Vhaeraunan drow, some Sharran fey'ri, an evil dwarf or two - and I made crystal clear, both in-game and out of game, that infighting will not be tolerated. I saw what that can do to a game once too often).

Yes, you can even find the "no evil PCs" rule in the 3.0 PHB (probably in 3.5 PHB as well, but I havn't checked there).

I'd guess that no evil alignments is a rather common campaign rule (wouldn't call that a house rule).

That said, if you follow the spirit of the 3.5E revision, instead of the rules as written, there is something to be said about changing the BoVD feats in question. The best examples are Empower Spell-like Ability and Quicken Spell-like Ability, which are in the BoVD and the 3.5E MM. Using those as an example, you should change Corrupt Spell-like Ability and Violate Spell-like Ability so that, instead of being applied to each of the creature's spell-like abilities, respectively, thrice and twice per day, they are, when taken, applied to a specific spell-like ability, and can be used with it thrice per day (that should be true for both feats). You should also add a caster level prerequisite to each; I'd recommend 4th level for Violate and 8th for Corrupt (since the latter seems more powerful; these levels are just my offhand recommendations though). Finally, you should note that the feats can be taken multiple times, but each time they're taken they'll apply to a different spell-like ability.

That's pretty much what I meant. :)

I totally agree with Kae`Yoss.

Nightfall: Your warlock want to animate undeads.
What do you think the paladin will do, if your PC animate some dead drow?
Most players do not like PvP and one player always will loose.
