I've DM'd a Warlock for over a year now, I really like what the player has done with the character. Overall, one thing seems common, those people that have played with a Warlock that has tried to use their Invocations first, have rave reviews of the class.
Those that have played with a Warlock that mainly uses Eldritch Blast have said the class is boring.
UMD, Fell Flight, and Flee the Scene is all you really need.
Throw in the feats Spell Penetration, Maximize SLA, and Quicken SLA: Flee the Scene and you have some goodness right there. The Warlock in my campaign is very Nightcrawleresque, DD in to rescue a fallen companion on the front lines, or into the back ranks to cast Dispel Magic on an enemy spellcaster.
On the Treasure front the class is great, as you will be able to use most items with UMD.
