Water Problems [DM: Voda Vosa; Judge: Kalidrev!]

"Come on Vardaal! I thought you were tougher than that! Get up and get back in the fight!," Myoko shouted across the sandy battlefield. Even as she spoke, she lashed out with her spear at the remaining insect monster, trying to distract it for a crucial moment... While the spear wound was only a small one, it left the ankheg open to another attack from the Goliath...

The shifter runs across the battlefield, following in Vardaal's steps as his short sword strikes a minor blow against the ankheg.

After blinking a couple of times to get the sand out of his eyes, Vardaal looks around and still sees the ankheg standing over him.

"Hey! You no try and kiss me again. That hurt!" the bugbear says as he stands up and glares at the enemy.

Vardaal raises his sword and tries to launch another attack, but his voice comes out in a choked sound as sand had even gotten in his throat. The coughing fit sends his sword into the sand.

More in frustration of not hitting anything lately than anything else, Torqua stomps the ground ground again, sending another blue arcane shockwave at her foe. The Energy wave this time hitting the ankheg with a blast of thunder and sand.

OOC: Sorry I didn't realizes you were waiting on me. Moving to N14. HITTTING DA2 for once with Storm Walk 1d20+3=20 and doing 11 thunder damage. 1d8+7=11

So...do we win?

Llama hasn't been on in 10 days. Can we just have him attack with a basic attack or something? I'm anxious to keep moving.

The goliath gives the finishing touch to the Ankheg before it can retreat into his cave. The vermin screech and dies with spasmodic contortions, as a green goo sprouts from the several wounds.
The desert falls suddenly silent, and only the whistle of the dry palm's leaves can be heard. After tremendous battle, our heroes feel the scorching effect of the blazing sun again. The caves from where the Ankhegs came have collapsed behind them, apparently excavated hastily to come in defence of the territory they have claimed theirs.

After what feels like an eternity of silence, Torqua finally speaks up. 'Good job, everyone! Seems we've already found the source of the drought.' The sorceress says, trying to pick up the mood. She was annoyed that not even half her spells were able to hit, maybe it was because of the heat.

She bends down to have a look at her leg. It had stopped bleeding, so that was good sign. "Let's take 5." Torqua suggests, sitting her huge ass down and taking swig of water. 'It will give us a chance to patch ourselves up and figure out what we should do next.'

OOC: I recommend we take a short rest. Spending a healing surge if we do.

"Well, even if we haven't found what actually caused the drought, it seems like we found out what happened to the other scouts," Myoko agreed with a heavy sigh. She took off her helmet, using it to scoop up some water as she crouched beside the nearly empty oasis. "And maybe the water drained into the nest or tunnels or whatever these things dug out. I don't know if we're the right group to go looking in narrow underground passages..." She took another look around the group, mentally comparing the size of the creatures to some of her larger compatriots...

OOC: Second vote for a short rest- Myoko will spend two surges for 12 HP, back to full. Then we ought to search the area- there were some weapons or gear near one of the holes, I remember. FYI, I will be away from 12/24 to 12/27, with no net access.

"Those bugs have gotta be pretty thirty to be drinking all this water. Maybe we look and see if any more tracks around?" Vardaal adds as he sits down on the ankheg and takes a swig from his waterskin.
