D&D 5E Ways to maximize 1st lvl spell slots?

Edit: this is for a sorcerer in my AL game.
He has 2 lvls of paladin and is going to be a up close fighter primarily using booming blade. Just a fun thing im trying. But hes mainly going to be a spellcaster.
My idea was to use a greatsword with booming blade. At lvl 5 it automatically does an extra d6 with the initial attack.
Before attacking I use Thunderous Smite as a bonus action and then if i hit i use Divine smite (not actually casting a spell. All together im looking at 7-9d6 damage for one attack.
However it involves 2 1st lvl spell slots every time. Thats why i wanna maximize the 1st lvl slots.
I know I could probably just go full paladin but i still wanna be able to do other spells if i have to like fireball or invisibility.

Just bear in mind that Divine Smite specifically requires Paladin spell slots. That works with multiclassing, but it won't necessarily work with slots acquired by other means.

They errata'd it so that it no longer requires paladin spell slots.

you know you could get more damage for less cost twinning booming blade, or quicknning Green flame blade? Save the divine smite for when you get a critical hit. The convertion of SP to spell make you always lose.

Take three levels of sorcerer and at least one level of warlock. Every time you short rest, convert your warlock slots into 1st level sorcerer slots. Voila! You can have 99 1st level slots if you like, although it may take 3 or 4 days of cat-napping (short-resting) to accumulate them.

But if you ever take a long rest, all those extra slots vanish, so be careful! Honestly, 99 is probably way too many. Just store up 10 or 15 or so and call it good.
