Take a Monk/Cleric with the Weakening Touch feat (On a successful Unarmed Attack, you cause no damage, but your opponent receives a -6 penalty to his/her Strength for 1 minute) who is holding the charge on a Bestow Curse spell (–6 decrease to an ability score (minimum 1)) which is set to Strength. He hits the opponent and the opponent fails the will save for the spell.
If I understand rules correctly, these are both penalties and so therefore stack (plus they are both unnamed and would stack even if they were bonuses). So my questions:
1. Can this reduce an opponent with 12 or less strength to an effective 0 strength? The description for Bestow Curse says minimum 1, but would it matter if the spell took effect first and then the Weakening Touch? If it would make a difference, which would take effect first?
2. Would the penalties (if they combine and can reduce the opponent to effective 0 strength) drop the opponent for having a 0 strength, or would this only happen if it was caused by ability damage/drain? Do ability penalties work the same for this?
