Weapon Alignments and DR, what works?

Remathilis

Legend
So far, I like the new DR system, but the "aligned weapons" system is bugging me. Not so much that it exists, but WHAT exactly constitutes an "aligned weapon."

The two examples are weapons with the holy/unholy/axiomatic/anarchic enchantments and weapons under the spell "Align Weapon." Those I get.

But what about weapons with specific "alignments" (IE Sunblade or Nine Lives Stealer?)
But What about Intelligent weapons?
What about "Blessed" weapons (IE Bless Weapon or Bless Water, and thier evil counterparts when aplicable.)

Do any of these count?

The way it's written up, it excels against evil creatures (+4 instead of +2), so I'd say being good aligned was probably the intention.

AFAIK, yes. It says "This sword is evil..." and the aura has the evil descriptor.

I would say that if the weapon isn't specifically stated to have an alignment (like the Nine Lives Stealer) or if its aura doesn't have an alingment descriptor (like the Sunblade), then it isn't an aligned weapon.

Yes. The spell specifically states "The weapon also becomes good, which means it can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures..."

AFAIK, the damage caused by holy/unholy water bypasses DR anyway (unless you're talking about barbarian type DR, but it may not).
