My LG fighter uses a heavy pick. While I do understand that it ain't a great weapons it has two plusses to him.
A) He's a dwarven miner so it feels appropriate.
B) When he does roll a crit, it really leaves a mark.
My home campaign fighter uses a heavy flail and does the whole trip/disarm thing.
