I can see the stuff geting taken being justified since he basically stripped us down to lin cloths. Whythey would do that I guess psychological warfare, brainwashing type stuff. Basically I think he has a problem with our equipment so he is easing us the terible burden of wealth.
As for which school I gave up, evocation. I almost never specialize since I really think the loss of a school is no where near compensated for by one extra spell to cast at every spell level. But I wanted to try something different, and we have like a ton of fighter types in the group so invocation didn't seem that important. We have in our group a fighter, a ranger/rogue mostly ranger, a barbarian, a cleric and me.
