Weird Way to Permanently Damage Undead

Consecrate works too, does it not? (for healing Vile damage, that is). Since Consecrate and Hallow both flood an area with positive energy, allowing living things to heal, perhaps inflict spells cast in the range of Desecrate and Unhallow (which flood the area with negative energy) will heal vile-damage undead.

This is the way I do it- I prefer it muchly to the semantics around inflict spells curing undead...

Yep, Consecrate works, and undead can enter consecrated ground. It might make it more dificult for them to heal, but it doesn't stop it from happening at all.

My biggest issue is that Vile damage is a much better tool for good people to use, because its harder for evil guys to get consecrated ground. Basically every evil guy needs to carry around an item of 1 charge consecrate, just so their buddy the evil cleric can cure them if they fight other evil people.

It just sounds backwards to me. If it were my game, I would rule that vile damage is negative energy that would help undead, not hurt them.

I don't think vile damage is negative energy; it's just too corrupt and evil to heal. Negative energy is not inherently evil any more than fire is (i.e, both the plane of Fire and of Negative Energy are unaligned, as are their respective "elementals") by vile damage is by defintion quite evil.

There you can see, being evil is not always the best idea...you the evil villain need a [good] spell to be cast that you can heal your wounds, how pathetic.
That's a fine reason why evil villains should always fight good...no chance of that happening. ;)

I treat evil creatures/undead as immune to "vile" damage. Its essentially unholy damage, and I only allow vile damage to affect neutral and good creatures.

Do you increase the power of the Purify and Consecrate Spell feats acordingly? Allowing vile damage to not affect your allies int he fireball radius, and still be hard to heal, make the Purify and Consecrate Spell feats much weker in omparison. Of course, they were already a bit weaker, assuming the battles are usually fought in areas where hitting your allies isn't a factor very often.
