Welcome to ENWorld 2

Next request ... how about a direct link back to a couple of common forums from the front page (General, 4E, 3E). Saves some menu and click-through effort.

Well there is the forum jump at the bottom of threads, if that would help you.

Or you can subscribe to forums themselves that you like, and thus, from your user control panel have your own personalized forum list of what you want.

First, wow smoking fast. Love it. (FF3 on Vista)
Second, I would rather read the news on the front than have to link to each section.

Yeah, but the server appreciates not having a 400K news page (the second most frequently hit page on the machine btw, after the general forum list) by giving us all more speed. :D

You misunderstand my request. I bookmark the front page. I then want a link directly to most-use forums from the front page (like the old front page used to have). I used to be able to 1-click directly into the General RPG or 4E forum. Now I have to go to a small area in the center of the page, click to the forums, then select a forum.

That plus the required click through for each news item (then click back) means the new front page is prettier, but less usable, than the old front page. I understand the desire to reduce the size of the front page to speed loading .. .so why not only have one day worth of news posted at a time, and cut some graphics?

The lightning speed of the boards, however, is a major win.

Sir Edmund Blair Leighton was responsible for the first two, the last by Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema. They belong to a group of Victorian artists collectively known as the "Pre-Raphaelite Movement" and favor classical and medieval themes in their paintings, though some of their works where modern for *their* time - still useful for a steampunk game though.

Thanks for the info :)

does no one else miss the news? Not having it available at a glance really seems to defeat the purpose.

And really, that's the only disappointment i have with this otherwise good upgrade.

The only thing I'm missing so far is the RSS, which appears to be MIA. I assume it will be coming later, but I used it all the time to watch for new articles.

Other than that, site looks and runs great!

The News area has several bugs that are being worked on Tal. I'm aware of them, and your complaints about the frontside of it aren't have as loud as the newshounds on the backside of it. Still, it's a work in progress.
