we're taking on the world's largest dungeon!

I was sort of excited earlier to post this, but in light of Morrus' rant, it seems sort of shallow. :\ Maybe it might lighten up the mood at least. :)

One of the DMs in our group saw The World's Largest Dungeon and flipped out like a ninja. He doesn't frequent ENWorld, so he hadn't heard about it previously. So, he scraped the money together and bought it on impulse. We were talking about it the yesterday and started scheming: if we can convince the other players, we are going to start at first level and GO THROUGH THE WHOLE THING. So far, we have two of the other players on board and we might be able to convince enough of the others to go along with it.

If we do decide to do it, I'll post a story hour. Wish us luck.

So Dancey's dream of the $100 RPG book has finally come to life! :D

(Note: I don't actually remember if this was Dancey's dream or not. Let's assume it is, for the sake of humor.)

Bring lots and lots of graph paper!
And don't tell the designated mapper what you guys are playing until he is strapped into his chair!!

I have to say first time I saw the page count of that product I nearly choked... I can imagine game tables the world around getting reinforced at the DM's end simply to hold up under the stress of holding it :D

I hope you post some session logs once you get started I'd be curious to hear how your experiences in the Worlds Largest Dungeon go.

LOL! Did someone (Dancey or not) actually dream of a $100 book?

I have to admit, the price tag on this thing was daunting. Before Terry bought it, I was on the fence about buying it. As it was (and this sounds terrible), the only way I could afford it at would be to buy it on Amazon and get the Share the Love discount and even then I was too afraid to buy the darn thing - I had no idea if anyone would want actually want to play it. Now he has saved me the trouble. :D

I can't remember the last time anyone in any group I've played with (except the DM) mapped anything. Wouldn't that be a hoot to learn how to map dungeons the HARD way. :]

No kidding!! :D

I don't play with the D&D group anymore, but the guy who used to do the mapping for the group (noone else would ever do it) back in the day is returning to the group sometime this month. It might be worth it to start playing with them again and get the WLD, if only to watch his head explode when he saw it! :p
