So Dancey's dream of the $100 RPG book has finally come to life! :D

(Note: I don't actually remember if this was Dancey's dream or not. Let's assume it is, for the sake of humor.)

I've heard him say it a few times--stop acting like a commodity and go for the premium product at the premium price. Given that I picked up the last one at my FLGS I suspect Dancey has a right to a few "I told ya so's".

Anyway, I'm really pleased with the purchase. I don't think I'll be running the whole thing but I've got dozens of ideas for how to incorporate different pieces of it into my game. And I am certain that eventually I'll get a group together and have them hack through the dungeon.

Good Luck!

I wish you success, a steady & strong DM, and imagine the massive party you folks will throw a few years from now when you finish. Bravo to you all, stick to it, and good luck!

Well, early indications are the WLD is a success.

Hopefully, more publishers will produce premium products such as this.

I have a feeling that's guaranteed :)

I'll be interested to see how other publishers pursue this new market option. In some ways, what AEG did is like what Phil Reed (Ronin Arts) did with its micro-books--trailblaze a new market for RPG books. I can barely imagine what someone like WotC could do if they decided to publish a premium item.

In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to the World's Largest City. Hopefully I'll get out to GenCon next year and be able to pick it up on-site.

World's Largest City? Is that the next product? Oooooh man... oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man... I was interested in the dungeon, but a full complete CITY would be... oooooooohhhhhhh................ I must have............................

If they really do a World's Largest City, I hope they take some cues from there old 7th Sea line's Freiburg set. Which, is probably one of the best, if not the best City supplement I've seen for any game.

Yah, I'm jonseing for this too. The ability to have the rogue break into some random apartment and then me be able to look up the stats of the occupants and how many copper pieces they have hidden under their mattress (and, given the quality of WLD, probably a small story hook too) sounds very, very cool.

LOL! Did someone (Dancey or not) actually dream of a $100 book?

Actually, I think it was Monte Cook who proposed the concept of a $100 mega-module that took your from 1st to 20th level.

Thanks! We made need it. We haven't told Kid Charlemagne about it yet.

The cat is out of the proverbial bag now. The only thing is that I'm enjoying the game we're in now...
