we're taking on the world's largest dungeon!

How does this adventure stack up vs. say the Necro Games version of Necropolis? I'm talking size/scope wise, cuz that book is pretty darn big and epic itself...

Three words:

Bigger.

Badder.

Better.

I liked Necropolis a lot - don't get me wrong, and I'll admit to bias here - but WLD is, hands-down, the biggest, most detailed module/dungeon/toolkit/campaign resource you can find out there right now.

As for the WLC...well, City-State of the Invincible Overlord is coming out, and that's going to be a big, bad (as in good) incentive to make WLC every bit as detailed as WLD.

And there's also, suggested by fans of the WLD, the possibility of The World's Largest Monster - a sort of organic dungeon. How do you stop a truly apocalyptic creature, the size of a small planet? Can you say Fantastic Voyage, but without the shrinking? :) This is, of course, entirely unoffical...but I think it'd be interesting to see.

I have just come to realize something:

1) By its very nature (price, size, "boring" dungeon crawling for three years of play), not many people will buy WLD.

2) By it's very nature (weirdest d20 idea, huge size, rarity see #1), this book will be in 10 years a HUGE (also read pricey) COLLECTOR.

Now I am regretting not having bought it through Share the Love when I had the opportunity... :( It appears clearly to me, that this book will in the future get large amounts of money on Ebay...

I don't know Turanil; from absolutely everything I've heard, WLD is doing as well-to-far better than anyone thought. You might be surprised. The glowing word of mouth certainly isn't hurting. Heck, I went from "no way in heck would I EVER buy this thing" to "Here's my credit card" in a very very short span of time. Part of that was seeing the book at GenCon....its a nicely put together book (in a functional sort of way). However, a much larger part of that change was from word of mouth. I can't wait for a formal review by some ambitious soul. Very nice job authors!

PS: oh, and World's Largest City? I'm SO there.
