Good thing the Taylor Swift version gets a lot of play, and the survivor challenge starts Dec 1st since I've been listening all November.

I know some people who feel Whammageddon gives the song and the group a bad rap, so they instead play Wham!Hunter, in which they earn a point every time they hear the song in public.

Christmas music is odd we spend 1/12 of the year binge listening to the same 100 songs.

Of them " Last Christmas" is one of the better pop ones. "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" is also tolerable (the Phil Spector controversy aside).

I spent almost a week in NYC amongst dozens, maybe hundreds of locations and carts playing Christmas music and didn't hear the song once. Then I arrived on an airplane in Portland, OR yesterday and the song started playing as we taxied to the gate after we landed.

So I was out on Day 1.

A local station here The Current does alternative Christmas tunes from all sorts of artists and genres. Yeap, you hear plenty of standards, but not by any of the standard artists. Its a really nice change up. They only do it on xmas eve and xmas itself too so thats my binge every year.
