If these closures, restrictions, etc. go on for very long, we probably see more movies going straight to streaming.

Maybe not so much - a lot of movies currently in production are going on hold - so their production and releases will be delayed. If they take finished straight to streaming... there'll be a gap in stuff available on the big screen when things settle down.

I expect that overall, you'll see release schedules just put on hold, and the whole thing will shift a couple of months.

What you're likely to see is that anything that's already waiting on digital release will get it sooner rather than later - Disney's already done that with Frozen 2 and Rise of Skywalker, I think.

according to those who know, the business models and contract obligations of the existing movies mean that they probably cant go to streaming without the studios taking a huge hit in profits and extra liabilities - its far more viable for them to postpone release to a later time, and use marketing to hype it up.

of course if the whole self isolation thing carries on for much longer than expected then studios might shift their focus to new streaming movies rather than the theatre release

So, for things currently in theaters, Universal seems to be acting quickly...

"Universal Studios is planning to release some of its newest films that are still in the middle of their theatrical runs — including The Invisible Man, The Hunt, and Emma. on digital platforms to rent for $20 starting this Friday. Furthermore, the upcoming Trolls World Tour, which was set to release in theaters on April 10th, will now also be available to rent on demand the same day it hits theaters "

There's only a certain extent to which they can do that without ending up competing with each other, and ultimately themselves, once they do start releasing movies into theatres again. And it's not as though there's any likelihood that this whole crisis will suddenly grind to a halt one day the world over - it's going to be grinding down at different rates, and at different times, in various countries across the world. Not exactly ideal for a unified multi-market publicity campaign.
