What 30th-level Monsters Need Converting?

the Jester

Legend
Okay, so I'm going to jump around a little with my Monster Project. I've decided I want to do a few epic monsters, so why not start at the top?

What monsters from previous editions that didn't make the 4e MM would make good 30th level monsters in 4e??

This oughta be a tough one- here's my list so far:

Blackball
Demilich
Elder Brain
Gargantuan, Devastation Wasp
Genius Loci
Golem, Adamantine
Infernal
Solar
Thunder Worm

Really big, really old, gold & silver dragons

These are so in the WotC pipeline. :) I've already decided to skip the metallic dragons, at least until MM2 or Draconomicon 2 or whatever comes out and I see what WotC does with them.

Kluicher (the big 3rd Ed demon that gives Balors nightmares).

Weren't they revised in FC1 to be about CR 17 instead? I'll have to look- I don't know that they quite earn a 30.

devastation vermin

Genius loci are really weird. I like them. :) And I can see a devastation vermin of some kind...

Oh! That provoked another thought: the gargantuan. Maybe I'll make devastation vermin a type of gargantuan.... yes, I think I like it!

and we don't know if an Immortals tier is coming at all.

Pick the high-end stuff, see if it will fit. The REALLY high stuff (hecatoncheires, prismatic dragon) might be for immortals tier, if there is one.

And maybe some Level 32/31, maybe solo monsters: dream vestige? Infernal? More colossuses?

I don't think it would qualify as level 30, but the Zaratan (the giant sea turtles that were so big that they could be confused for islands) would be pretty good for a high epic monster.
