Where's "none" as an option in the poll? :p

The one impact that I think this has on my life is that I'll occasionally describe a behavior as one of the extremes (LG, CG, N, LE or CE)

I prefer to play in alignmentless games like Arcana Unearthed. When I have to play an alignment I tend to prefer Lawful Neutral. The end is defined by the means.

[Theoretically] Neutral, the munchkin alignment. Heh. Actually, that is just my preference for a character who is intended to act as a person, rather than attempt to embody a philosophy.

[Opinion] I suspect that many people who claim they want to/enjoy playing evil characters actually mean Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic/ Neutral. Neutral Evil makes for the best goal oriented characters, though.
[Base covering] But I have not read this particular thread's responses yet.

9 to 10 of my pcs are chaotic good and the remaining one is chaotic neutral,so you know what i voted. :D

...and in real life i am mostly like that althought i can become very bad to others when cornered.

I voted neutral good - I think it's the most appropriate alignment for a hero who doesn't have strong opinions on how society should be structured, and I prefer that attitude in most D&D games, since it's rare that they turn genuinely political.

In real life I would probably count as neutral with good and chaotic tendencies - I try to help people in my daily life, but I don't always have the energy, and I tend to support choice and liberties and dislike pointless laws.

Thank you and please keep it coming

I went with the nine alignments and no "none" option because I knew so many of you would want to not be restricted in a poll.

In a sense I was testing the waters, I wanted to know about the alignment of the people on ENWorld. :o

Thank you all, I would like to hear from more of you, get a true sense of the essence of ENWorlders.

I am curious as to how many evil alignment players actually play their characters as evil (raping, murdering, hostage taking, stealing, slaughter of inocence for the sake of doing it, etc; real evil acts) or if they just take the evil alignment to keep themselves from being restricted.

Thank you again all

PS- You're welcome, Talon. For what its worth, you are right, do not doubt that. ;)

A while ago I played a chaotic neutral sorcerer/alienist in a Third Edition Planescape game in a large evil party, which would have been described as "vile" had the Book of Vile Darkness been released before it started. The evil members of the party (it was 5/3 evil/neutral, but evenly split chaos/law) often did commit genuinely evil acts, but it wasn't the point of the campaign by any means.

LG -- there's a little Paladin hiding in me.

It inspires me to make my villians really evil, so as to give my PCs the ability to shine.
