What are my options for Cyberpunk d20?

re: the net adaptations, there's CYD20, published under 'Ground Twenty'. Not bad. It's at rainbow.mimuw.edu.pl/~dt2025/cyberpunk/cyd20ver30.pdf

Also, there's the d20 Cyberpunk Conversion Document, which came from the Cyberpunk d20 Yahoo Group. Haven't had a chance to go through this one properly yet. That one's at www.ambient.ca/cpunk/d20cyberpunk.rtf

I think there're a few other similar documents hiding on the HDD somewhere, but well, I hope that helps for now.

I got this email this morning...

Venture Land Games has published a new sourcebook titled Dark Future.
Dark Future is a science fiction setting that gives players a chance to
step into a possible future where America has fallen and immoral
corporations have divided up a once great nation. The cities of the new
“corporate-nations” are divided further into large gated communities that
shelter the wealthy and powerful behind high tech and heavily armed
security. Meanwhile the poor are cast out into “other-cities”, lawless
ghettos where gangs, crime and violence are a way of life.
Dark Future uses the d20 engine. It contains 9 classes, 27 prestige
classes, as well as new skills and skill uses, feats, original psychic
powers, unique equipment, firearms and complete new rules for cybernetic
augmentation and cybernetic systems. The book also contains a world
description of the powers that be: international corporations, merciless
gangs, military research facilities, fanatical religious sects and
tyrannical government bodies.

Check it out now at http://www.venturelandgames.com

Other than that, i know nothing about it yet.

I've been getting an inexplicable taste for a 1989-ish vision of the future, and was curious what was out there for Cyberpunk gaming in the d20 'verse. I saw a couple of Terminal Identity offerings from Adamant, and they piqued my curiosity.

What's out there? What's good? Has anyone done a serious conversion of the Cyberpunk 2020 system? I'd like to use my New City source boxed set for a setting... with all of those megacorps and flavor elements.

Hi there,

I'm the author/developer for the Terminal Identity line. Gareth has provided excellent summaries of our offerings. To expand a bit, though, I'll mentioned that our line is meant to fit in with your Modern/Future books -- not supplant them. I settled on that approach as a gamer who wants to use his D20 purchases without unnecessary redundancies, and as a designer who wants to add to the most widely used D20 rules sets. So (to pick one example) Posthuman doesn't invalidate D20 Future's rules -- it gives to a set of tools to adjust them without wrecking base balance.

I also believe that any appraoch should cover both classic 80s Cyberpunk, filmic CP treatments (you can run The Matrix with Netspace) and more recent fiction. So Gibson and Sterling are in there -- but so's Greg Egan.

A question, by the way: If I revised and expanded Posthuman, what would you want to see?

* The full OGL cybernetics/mutations/mods systems found in D20 Future, for ease of reference?

* More specialized template classes for biological/cybernetic/nanogenic characters?

* AIs, androids, etc?

* Sample campaigns centered on what happens when modifying/abandoning humanity becomes commonplace?

* Anything else?
