What are the best names for characters that you've heard?

here's a couple i've become partial to (each from home-brew games)
"dobius dredd, the lord of the pits" (lone survivor in my "hero's height" game)
"dehmner the scarred" (a rather average Bbn NPC that actually survived every kind of beating a DnD game can dish out)

can't think of anymore right now :p

Don't know where he got it from, or if it was original, but many years ago, a friend DM'd a game and our arch-enemy was named

Phinistry Binge.

I loved that name.

My nice little priest has a last name beyond mentioning, but her first name is much easier: Teracoolanitiaraskinacoo.
It really rolls off the tongue after saying it a couple of times. :)

Heh, reminds me of my EQ days. In one of the expansions, they had an ice efreet by the name of Lord Doljonijiarnimorinar, who also had an axe that bore the same name. Most people just ended up calling him Lord Bob.

I'm rather partial to Hephaenestous.

Then, of course, there's Seamuszanthusxemus, Purveyor of Fine Goods, Merchant Most Excellent, Slayer of Fiends. But that's a canon Planescape NPC, so I'm not sure how much it counts to mention him.

Had a friend run a halfling ninja named Quince Peaseblossom.

Cherished PC names I have:

Xnoibys a Litorian Runechild Greenbond/Totem Warrior (greek for Spiritual Trancendance)

Klor-Kon a Half-Orc Bounty Hunter (Ranger). The name comes from a dietary supplement!

Darkethorne Drow Druid/Transmuter/Ranger

Pierre Chanson "Lucky Pierre", the Diviner/Rgr/Ftr/Spellsword

Rubik Goldenburg a gnome rogue/illusionist

Arion Dragomir originally a 2Ed Cleric using the Player's Choice rulebooks, now a 3Ed Cleric/Barbarian. One player objected to the original's ability to cast spells from a large number of spheres & Abjuration (Wiz) even when in chainmail, even though his entire repetoir of spells was protective/buffs (except 3, none better than 3rd level), in comparison to his cleric who couldn't use armor but had many powerful offensive (cleric & Wiz) spells. Said player whined so much, I tore up the character sheet in his face during the first session. Which led to the creation of...

Johnny Bones a Fighter/Rogue. I was so P.Oed by the above that I created this PC to knock off the whiner's PC. However, I had cooled down by the time I had the opportunity. Besides, the player managed to get his PC exiled out of the campaign.

erm...
Sabbra Cadabra, a halfling bard and sorceror
Cal(veston)F.(itzgerald) Ornian, a duelist and a scoundrel, band manager
Kavorkian the Lame (a so-so wizard and philantropist)
Jhasina Hanadi Jaradat, a bard and dervish (IRL Hanadi Jaradat was a lawyer-turned-suicide bomber, a tragic story by itself, see Snow white and the madness of truth for the backstory).
Bjarne Kallis, a cleric of Lathander(also a real name of the former leader of Christian Democrat Party in Finland)
Mandela (a cyberpsycho assassin in a Cyberpunk2020 campaign)
Francis Steiner (medic in the same campaign)
Warehouse (a 600lb-fixer, again cyberpunk)
Tic, Tac and Toe - halfling cutpurses and stage magicians; triplets.

Valthus Incarnadine, NPC vampiric protecter of a noble house.
Devian Black, non-evil NPC human necromancer in the Iron Kingdoms.
Ulfgar Ungart, a dwarf barbarian/fighter. The player just looked through the names part of the PHB and thought it sounded good, and so do I.
