D&D (2024) What are the chances they will fix the index in the new books?

Terrible indexes are an RPG tradition, though. Like, you should check out the ones in Pathfinder.

But yeah, WotC should improve them. Given history, I am not that hopeful.

The terrible indexes, content organization, and the constant page flipping is one of the major reasons I stopped playing 5E. Trying to find the information you're looking for then having to reference something else is so frustrating not only at the table but also while writing/prepping adventures.

I don't know, the 3.5 PHB was pretty good I think

Pet peeve is running into something like "Attack of Opportunity.... See Opportunity Attack"

There's probably a good reason, just from a non-editor perspective it seems that simply putting the page number there is less ink lol.

As someone that's done actual indexing work, to this day that still drives me up a wall.

the crappy search tool could be just a crappy (data base) index in disguise ;P At least thats how I explain that if I enter "concentration" I don't get the rules about concentration, but spells and magic items that use concentration.
