I've leant that my real strength is 15 (AD&D2E) due to the max amount I can bench press.

It isnt how much you can Bench Press, but Military Press over your head.

Most people cant Military Press as much as they can Bench.

Ok, couple of things I learned which I would otherwise have never known..

- Robot is Polish for slave.
- Mass Hysteria due to a danger of a disease outbreak is a myth. In reall life, people don't start running round and scream till they drop.
- In relation to the above, I have a friend who is not authorized to speak about parts of his job in danger of treason if he does. He can seriously say "You're on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know" and keep a straight face.
- The bigger the Dice, the higher the average roll. I am convinced of this.
- The CR of a camel.

Not by practical experiments I hope!

LOL That was the funny part...We were in the middle of a game, and someone asked the question (they were getting rid of some dead soldiers they came across). And one of my players blurted out "5-6 hours" so nonchalantly he gave us all pause.
We asked him how he knew (knowing the guy it was possible). But he told us he had to study forensics to get his Criminal Justice degree. There was a collective sigh of relief in the room.

Hmmm... like some have said, there is a lot of strange things that I've learned because I'm obsessive and curious about details.... some of the ones that get me weird looks:

- A barnacle has a penis that is over a foot long and when compared to body size, is the largest in existence. (usually around 5 times longer than its own body!)

- Under the right conditions & circumstance, water can be highly explosive.

- pigs will consume a human body, bones and all, with no problem what-so-ever.

- In Europe, especially busy cities during the Renaissance, it was customary for the random gentleman to walk next to his lady on the sidewalk. The woman would not walk nearest to the curb/street; the gentleman would always take that place. This was for a couple reasons. Women who walked closest to the street were the whores, so of course that was a big difference. Also, anything from the second floor up (like used water and other unsavory tid-bits) would be tossed from the window into the street (gutter). With the man there, if anyone was hit by a bad throw it would be him.

I don't know if learned is the right word, but GMing I've thought a lot, and experimented a lot with power. It's various aspects and the relationship between groups, resources, mindsets, psychology, propaganda, information, etc.
This gave me a better understanding of the dynamics of our real world.
How a government, companies, individuals and a large etcetera interact and form this whole mess :)

I'm not claiming to understanding it all. I'm just claiming I now understand more the real world because of experimenting in my own fantasy worlds.
